Stella Spirit is a contemporary ghost novel centred on a kept woman, a wrongfully convicted man, and a glamorous ghost, all three of whom long to be freed from their situations.

Written in close third person, the book is set from the point of view of Stella, an Australian expat living with her wealthy boyfriend in central London. Stella is lonely, bored and miserable in her seemingly perfect setup, yet doesn’t want to go home with her tail between her legs. That’s until she meets a ghost in the bathroom of a private members club.

With the fabulous world of vintage fashion as its backdrop, Stella Spirit explores themes of loneliness, autonomy, life, death and relationship dynamics by regularly putting believable characters in (almost) unbelievable situations.

From the fashion world to the underworld, this story is frothy, fun, dark and digestible. Stella Spirit is a ghost story for a fashion-loving, book club fiction audience.
